Preparation and Integration

The moment you decide to work with Iboga, the medicine starts to work on you, and we are there every step of the way to guide you through your experience.

Pre-Retreat Preparation

Body

While there isn't a specific "Iboga Diet," eating as cleanly as possible will be in your favor. The cleaner your body is, the less detox you'll need to go through during the retreat.

Avoiding excess sugars, caffeine, and processed foods is recommended. It will be important to stay away from alcohol, drugs, and most medications for at least 14 days prior to your arrival.

For certain plant medicines, drugs, and medications, a longer abstinence period of up to 30 days may be necessary. During our initial call, we will review your intake and create a personalized plan for you.

Mind

Begin to slow down your mind. Limit your time on devices and immerse yourself more in nature.

Shift from being a human doing to a human being. Instead of constantly looking for things to do, allow yourself to simply be.

Let go of any expectations for the retreat—they can just get in your way. Instead, think about what you really want to get out of it. What do you want to heal or let go of?

If you’re having trouble figuring this out or worrying about it, don’t hesitate to reach out to your providers for support.

Soul

Once you commit to an Iboga retreat, the spirit of the medicine starts working on you. Pay attention to what comes up, but don’t get attached to it. Just notice it, maybe write it down, and let it go.

If you find it hard to let go, then that could be the medicine showing you your attachments.

A big part of the retreat is about reconnecting with your soul. Your soul is always listening to you, but are you listening to your soul?

Take a few minutes each day to just sit and be. No music, no TV, no trying to meditate—just be. Pay attention to yourself.

Committing to your spiritual journey and setting your goals is the first step. As your session approaches, you may find your mind feeling threatened by the impending changes, leading to doubts, fears, or regrets.

When this happens, simply acknowledge those thoughts and let them go. Observe them without giving them agency.

True healing is not always comfortable or easy. It requires you to dig deep and confront issues at their source. However, once you face these challenges, you will feel a newfound sense of freedom and be able to begin your true healing process.

At The Retreat

Day 1 is all about settling in and orientation. This is where we will go through the expectations for the week and the guidelines that will help you get the most out of your experience with the medicine.

The 10 Questions

Once the medicine has detoxed your mind and body, it will take you on the Spiritual Discovery. This is a live experience where you'll have a one-on-one conversation with your soul and can ask any questions you have about yourself.

The process is simple. You will prepared 10 questions to ask your soul, and your provider will guide you through the experience, using your soul's answers to help you get to the root of your issues.

These questions are your targets for the retreat. They're the things you want to heal—spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. They will help you understand who you are and where you came from.

During this experience, you'll be conscious and hyper-aware. You'll communicate with your provider throughout, guided by someone who knows their way around the spiritual world and can efficiently help you get to the root of the problem.

This journey is all about healing the soul, healing the body spiritually, connecting with your ancestors, receiving blessings, and revisiting and healing those traumatic moments in your life.

Processing Day

The day after ceremony is dedicated to relaxation and stillness, allowing the medicine to do its work on you. Processing Day is prime time for insights and realizations.

Providers will check on you regularly, guiding you through the process. It's common to find it difficult to sleep until later in the evening, though some individuals may spend the day drifting in and out of sleep, especially if they typically suffer from insomnia.

Once you manage to get a few hours of sleep, you'll feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

Integration Day

It's time to ground yourself and integrate your experience. What better way to do this than by spending a day in nature? Depending on the location, season, and weather, we may spend the day at a Scandinavian spa, by the beach, at a lake, or enjoying a relaxing walk in the great outdoors.

Post-Retreat Integration

Going Home

Iboga offers a unique experience, one that is unlike anything you can encounter with other plant medicines or synthetic psychedelics.

Once you leave the retreat, you will have changed, but your life back home will remain the same. This is when your integration begins.

Integration is all about applying and mastering the tools and teachings you received during the retreat. It's about embodying the newfound wisdom you've gained.

During the retreat, we thoroughly cover how to navigate your integration journey as you head home. Plus, we provide you with a comprehensive Post-Retreat Package that includes a link to schedule free integration calls at your convenience.

Longterm Care

Iboga focuses on what you need to thrive for the years and decades to come. The medicine itself will be processed in your liver for the next six months, and its spirit will stay with you as long as you nurture that relationship.

Consuming large amounts of alcohol and drugs, and engaging in behaviors that you know aren’t good for you, can cause the spirit of the medicine to leave you. Remember, Iboga helps those who help themselves.

The next six months will be a time when you need to put yourself first. Your relationship with yourself—your soul—must be your main focus. Your soul is always with you; it’s your first mate, your GPS. Make it your best friend, and consider yourself its captain and protector.

My soul is my first mate and I am the captain of my soul.

I am the master of my fate.
